OUR BELIEFS
Our Beliefs reflect the core truths that shape our faith and guide our community. These foundational principles, rooted in Scripture, unify us as we follow Jesus together.
God
We believe that God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth—the beginning and the end, sovereign over all. He is holy, just, and loving in all His ways, perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness. God exists eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. Though distinct, they are one in essence, co-equal and co-eternal, working together in unity to accomplish His redemptive plan for humanity. — Genesis 1:1; Revelation 22:13; Isaiah 6:3; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3
Human Kind
We believe that God LOVES all people. Every person is made in His image—created by Him and for Him. In Him we live and have our being. While humankind has incredible potential for good, we are all marked by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. Sin separates us from a loving God, but we have a Savior who redeems us and restores us from a life of sin. (See next text box.) — Genesis 1:27; Acts 17:28; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8
Salvation
We believe that salvation is a free gift from God, restoring our relationship with Him that was broken by sin. It is by His love and kindness that we are saved and rescued. Through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, we can freely receive forgiveness and be reconciled to God. This salvation comes through repentance, believing in and confessing Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and submitting our lives to His will. — Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:23-24; Romans 10:9-10
Baptism
We believe that baptism is an important act of obedience that publicly declares a believer’s faith in Jesus Christ. It symbolizes the believer’s identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection—signifying the washing away of sin and the beginning of a new life in Him. Baptism is a testimony of the transformation that has taken place in the heart and is an outward expression of an inward faith. We practice baptism by immersion, following the example and teaching of Jesus and the early church. — Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 2:38; Colossians 2:12
The Church
We believe in the importance and power of the Church gathering together—for fellowship, worship, prayer, and the breaking of bread (communion). The Church is a diverse community of believers, united in Christ, where we are encouraged, equipped, and strengthened in our faith. We also believe that the Church is God’s chosen instrument to reach a lost and hurting world, both locally and globally, sharing the hope and love of Jesus with all people and making disciples of every nation. — Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Matthew 28:19-20; John 13:34-35
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God—accurate, trustworthy, and without error in its original form. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and life. The Bible reveals God’s character, His plan for humanity, and provides guidance, wisdom, and truth for everyday living. It is alive, powerful, and relevant for all people in every generation. As a church, we are committed to teaching the Bible faithfully and encouraging everyone to read, study, and apply God’s Word in their daily lives. — 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 119:105
Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God—fully God and fully man. He is the only One who can reconcile us to God. Jesus lived a sinless life, willingly died on the cross in our place, and rose again, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. Through His life, death, and resurrection, He not only secured our salvation but also showed us how to live in relationship with God. Jesus is Lord over all, and one day He will return to establish His kingdom fully and reign forever.— John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 5:10; Philippians 2:9-11; Acts 1:11
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son. He is our advocate, comforter, and helper. The Holy Spirit dwells within every believer, empowering us to live godly lives, guiding us in truth, and equipping us for service. He produces spiritual fruit in our lives—such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He also distributes spiritual gifts as He wills, to build up the Church and advance God’s kingdom. The Holy Spirit leads, convicts, strengthens, and transforms us daily to become more like Christ. — John 14:16-17; Romans 8:26; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
Living In Christ
We believe that our life is to be lived in Christ—being with Jesus, becoming like Him, and doing what He did. This means leaving behind our old ways and mindsets and embracing a new life empowered by His Spirit. Through daily surrender, transformation, and obedience, we grow in faith and reflect the love, grace, and truth of Jesus in all we do. We also believe that this journey happens best within a community of believers, where we encourage, support, and challenge one another to mature spiritually and live out God’s calling together. — Galatians 2:20; Romans 12:2; Colossians 3:9-10; Hebrews 10:24-25
Heaven and Hell
We believe that heaven is a beautiful and eternal home prepared by God for all who place their faith in Jesus. It is a place of perfect peace, joy, and the unending presence of God—a place where all pain and suffering will be wiped away. We also believe that hell is a real and serious separation from God, a consequence of rejecting His love and grace. While it is a sobering truth, it reflects God’s justice as well as His mercy. God’s desire is for everyone to turn to Him and receive His forgiveness and life. Because of God’s great love, mercy, and justice, we are called to share the hope of eternal life with those around us, inviting all to experience His saving grace and abundant life. — John 3:16; Revelation 21:4; 2 Peter 3:9; Romans 6:23; Psalm 89:14
